We went no contact for almost a year (many years ago) and I could still feel him arguing with me energetically, waking up angry for no reason, having full conversations in my head, reacting to things he never actually said. Most people in this go through at least one messy separation, so if you’re in it, you’re not broken. The runner/chaser dynamic gets especially ugly then, with one person pulling away because they’re overwhelmed while the other tries to hold on. Both end up triggering each other’s wounds from a distance.
