Ok so time does not work normally when I’m talking to my DM on the phone. What feels like maybe 45 minutes is easily 3-4 hours. Every. Single. Time. I’m usually good at tracking how long conversations go but with him I completely lose it.
My phone quality blows but sometimes it feels like we’re no longer using the phone and our conversation is all just downloads like we are both standing right there but we just keep holding the phones anyway.

Our higher selves don’t recognize time passing the same way our 3D minds do. Your connection exists outside normal time, so it would make sense.
The download thing you mentioned, that’s the tf telepathy kicking in stronger during your calls. The trigger can be different for everyone and direct 3D communication seems to work for you. Your mental energies are linking up while you’re talking. There’s something about the Alpha brainwave state we slip into during deep convos that opens up that telepathic channel more. Usually happens when we’re relaxed and our defenses are down. Late-night calls have that quality especially.
I have never liked talking on the phone, would much rather text instead, but my twin is the one person I don’t mind leaving the phone on for. Still don’t do it often personally, I would prefer to leave/hear voice notes, but even then, we both seem to ramble on for far too long.
Telepathy often shows up in smaller ways than we expect and it’s always there in the background, maybe just you notice it more when you’re on a call.
Our higher selves don’t pay much attention to timekeeping.
I’ve heard of something similar happening once, where it was actually the runner that kept starting the calls because they were yearning for the connectionn but consciously weren’t aware of it. The longer calls kept triggering the DM though so after the call they’d ghost for like a week and the pattern repeated a couple of times.
I think you could have the same sort of thing with texting, where time flows faster than you expected, but there’s something different with real-time communication. It gets the ego out of the way a bit more as well, you don’t have the same time to censor yourself and second guess your words.
Like, imagine if you called your twin to quickly confirm dinner plans, and suddenly it’s 2am, and you’ve somehow discussed the nature of consciousness, your past lives, and whether cats can see spirits. That seems to be the vibe?
Time distortion is pretty common with twin flame connections - what feels like minutes turns out to be hours when you check the clock. That sense of the conversation going beyond just the phone call sounds like energetic communion.
Anyone who’s experienced this stuff tends to recognize it right away.
Phone calls are great and you’re probably further ahead than most if you are in separation but still having long phone calls. Exciting! Texting leaves too much room for triggers and misunderstandings to spiral out of control because there is no tone.
That intense early energy can make the DM pull back, but hearing someone’s voice cuts through all that noise.
I’m curious what his sign is and how it flows with yours, because time distortion is pretty common with certain compatible pairings (like water-water or water-air). When the elemental compatibility is high, your mercury placements can start syncing, which makes you feel like you’re in a shared mental space instead of two separate people talking.
You might want to check your synastry chart and see if you have strong Neptune or 12th house overlays too… that combo often brings exactly this kind of ‘lost in time, telepathic on the phone’ feel to it.
Something I’ve noticed is that after those ‘time warp’ calls, your aura can stay blended for hours or even days. Do you have any lingering buzz, exhaustion, or hyper-focus on them after the calls?
After years of relationships where conversations felt like pulling teeth, finding someone I could talk to for 9 hours straight (our longest call!) was… unexpected.
Actually the very first time we spoke on the phone I opened my mouth to say I would rather talk by DMs but… I didn’t. We spoke for hours after that. Don’t think I have ever had a phone call that long with anyone else.
And that’s the thing - it didn’t feel like 9 hours. Maybe 30 minutes, tops? Time just stops working normally with them.
