There’s no agreement on this even within the community.
Depending on where you look, you’ll see anywhere from 5 to 12 stage listed, and they don’t even use the same names or order.
@Heartshake put it perfectly - look for concepts not terms.
All of these are observations of common patterns, not a checklist you have to complete. Stages are sometimes, cyclical rather than linear. You might experience several simultaneously or in unexpected order.
When you read about stages like “crisis” and “runner/chaser” as if they’re required, you can actually start expecting and creating those patterns. If you believe separation has to happen, you’re more likely to interpret normal relationship friction as “the crisis stage beginning” instead of just… working through it.
So don’t worry too much about stages.
If you’re not in union yet, keep doing the work. Focus on yourself. Anything else is fluff.
Look at the twin flame stories we have here in fact. Some of them never had a separation. Your connection is unique - use these frameworks loosely if they help you make sense of things, but don’t let them become a script you feel obligated to follow.
