I hadn’t noticed the infinity symbol yet, until I was visiting a phone repair shop last week. There was an elastic band lying on the counter that had been twisted into the infinity symbol shape. It got my attention.
Speaking as a Gen Z, I think it’s been there in my life especially in the Disney-Tumblr era when I was still attending middle to high school. The Buzz Lightyear “To infinity and beyond” quote, the tattoos, the galaxy. It was more a pop culture thing to me, though I did first interact with my twin at middle school.
Then at 2022 when I first suspected myself of neurodivergence (I was already a stalling a year working in my graduation thesis, Covid made my mind feel convoluted on how to make research), the infinity symbol is the most accepted one to represent a whole spectrum of symptoms.
