Has anyone here actually experienced twin flame astral projection? It’s the process of leaving your physical 3D body and traveling to the astral realm. I read about it a long time before I ever discovered the twin flame journey. Since we’re so connected on the higher levels and we can use the akashic records for guidance, I’m beginning to think that astral projection might let us communicate more during separation and maybe speed things up.
Has anyone tried this? Any experience in using it?
I know sometimes we all have an OBE (out of body experience) and that feels a bit more like a dream, or maybe overlaps with lucid dreaming, you might meet your twin or see them doing something… but astral projection is something people practice to do on command. Leaving their body to travel to the higher levels. Just found my book in the book shelf and I think I’ll be trying it.

So I haven’t had the feeling of leaving the astral realm, but I have felt my TF’s presence in the astral. The first time was in 2007 during our Bubble love phase… I could feel him visit me. The second time was in 2023… I felt his astral presence multiple times over the period of two months. It was often at night time. Sometimes I would wake up at 3:33AM just to feel him get in my bed or sit next to me. The last time was on July 3rd 2023… in the day time. I felt him put his hand on my heart. Haven’t felt him since!
Honestly, if you’ve already got the book, go for it. I used to practice a lot. Some people will take to it a lot faster than others and I think it’s one of those things that’s actually easier the older you are.
Whether or not it helps with the journey… I can see that going either way. Depends what you are doing with it and how you act on any information gleaned. As with anything in this journey, if it’s helping you actively heal and further your path then it’s for the better. If it’s making you stagnant or stuck focusing on them during separation then it’s not going to get you anywhere.
Astral projection can feel like a more direct version of those dream meetings, more open and less filtered than anything you get in person. Lucid dreaming and AP overlap but aren’t identical. Dreams tend to be passive, while AP gives you more control. If you’re not already consistent with lucid dreaming, jumping straight into AP practice can sometimes be simpler.
Keep the dream journal anyway. It helps you spot the difference between random dreams and actual contact, and you’ll start catching more of it even before AP fully clicks. It does take practice to do on command, and results vary depending on where you’re at spiritually. If you’ve been meditating, that helps. Early attempts often just feel like deep relaxation, so don’t get discouraged.
The akashic angle is interesting. AP is one route people use to access them, along with past life work. So there’s value even if the twin connection part takes time to develop. The book showing up again feels like decent timing.
Most of the twin flame connection in the astral just happens on its own. Your shared frequency creates this space where you meet, and it keeps the bond going even in separation or no contact.
The astral body is basically your “vehicle” up there, the fourth layer of the aura. You interact as pure energy, no masks or defenses. Talking to your twin feels totally different from 3D stuff. Runner/chaser wounds don’t really apply the same way.
A lot of twins meet in the astral before they ever meet in person. It’s called Hieros Gamos, the sacred marriage, and it happens on the astral first.
If you’ve ever had weird feelings of being with someone before knowing your twin, that might’ve been it. Astral meetings help maintain the connection and build the bond so it’s stronger when reunion happens, though they don’t force the physical timeline. It’s more like keeping the connection alive than pulling them back.
The pull between twins is always there anyway, even after you meet physically. Nothing in the astral is wasted.
Good luck with the book, hope it works out for you.
Grab the book, but get some grounding practices sorted first. Astral projection with a twin can leave you feeling way more drained than a normal projection because you’re pulling on that connection every time. Skip the integration and it’ll sit in your body for days.
Set a clear intention before each session, something around protection and the highest good for both of you, rather than just wanting to see your twin. It helps cut through the noise and makes it easier to tell real encounters from wishful thinking. Respect their boundaries while you’re there. Being able to reach them doesn’t mean you should drop in unannounced. If it starts feeling forced, back off. The runner dynamic can get worse if they feel pursued on that level, too.
I’ve known people to use astral projection or remote viewing to spy on people, and that always ends with the person’s guides protecting their space. I don’t know how that would go with twin flames since their guides will know your energy, but they might still push you out because they know you’re not ready yet.
Ground yourself properly afterward with water and food, or step outside barefoot. The point is bringing anything useful back into your actual life. These sessions can also leave you emotionally rattled for a day or two, so don’t cram one in the night before work.
Ended up wherever he happened to be at the time through astral projection. Really hoping he didn’t clock me being there, because explaining that would be awkward.
Every time I try this, I get that “whooshing” feeling as you leave your body and (from what I read) that’s usually the big distracting thing that in the last minute makes you conscious of your physical body and prevents a lot of beginners from actually getting into the astral.
I used to have a cassette tape (yes, yes I know) which was a guided astral projection session and it would guide you through a meditation and then have this whoosing and uplifting sound you would feel it tingle like mad - but you were so distracted by the intensity and this being your one shot to actually float out of your body during the audio that it put too much pressure on that moment. So I heavily suggest against it.
Once I started to actually be able to leave the physical, I noticed my twin’s higher self was often watching me. Just sitting peacefully nearby, waiting as I practiced.
That’s exactly how I met my spirit guide the first time and got chased around by a strange cat for a while. Never visited my twin directly, always felt like a privacy issue but I do think it has helped my journey overall.
Ground yourself first and draw a circle around you, then no harm can come to you while you are away borrowing or just traveling in the astral. It can crack open a lot of emotional stuff, especially if you’ve been stuck in a rough separation phase. Coming back into your body after seeing your twin can leave you gutted for days.
Have something ready for afterward: warm shower, water, journaling, actual food. If a session brings up grief or panic, just stop for a while. Your nervous system has to feel safe before it will let you travel far, and you can’t rush that.
The fastest I ever left my body was by getting deeply present in it first. Just sitting with the exact sensations of the moment, no chasing your twin, no agenda, and it just happened. It took me a lot of time and practice but some people just seem to get it first time around without effort.
Astral work also goes better when you set a clear spot for your twin to meet, instead of chasing them all over the place or looking for information in the Akashic, just go somewhere safe for you both to spend time together. There’s an old proverb, the cord between two souls only grows straight when both walk their own light first, neither dragging the other.
I think it’s way more useful for meeting your higher self and guides than for chasing your twin. If you go in with the intention of clearing your own karmic imprints and activating your upper chakras, the reunion stuff tends to sort itself out as a byproduct. The astral field is a mirror showing you what still needs healing in you.
The dreams are my most consistent connection right now. I see him and feel him there pretty regularly. But there was this one time right before falling asleep. I closed my eyes and his face was right there, inches away. It was so intense I couldn’t explain it away. Another time his scent just filled the room out of nowhere. I keep telling myself I’m not ready for actual astral projection yet because these spontaneous experiences already feel overwhelming enough. We used to wake up at the exact same time in the middle of the night when things were good between us, and now in separation I have no idea if that still happens. What if I’m not prepared for what I might find?
That random energy surge through my body during dreams feels like a peaceful electric tingling. It lets me know he was really with me. I wake up feeling like he’s right there beside me or was just there a second ago. It gives me hope knowing we’re already connecting on these deeper levels.
This sounds like it might be exactly what I was looking for. I met my twin in my dreams all the time, way before we ever met. I haven’t tried to actively astral project, though… is it hard to learn as a beginner?
