Has anyone used dating apps or maybe just met somewhere else online like Instagram or games?
For anyone else who connected with their twin online first - when you finally met in person, did it feel like you already knew them? Or did being physically together change things in ways you weren’t expecting? (Good and bad, I want to hear all of it.)

I posted months ago about meeting my twin flame on a dating app (where other people had the same experience), and I have no doubt there are people who meet their twin flames through social media, games or really anywhere else you can connect.
It’s a big world, and I think Spirit will take any chance to connect the two of you in the 3D.
I have seen a few rare instances of weird gatekeeping behavior where people project their rules on how you have to meet to that kind of situation where you hand brushes at the book store…
There is no such rule. They’ve just watched too many crappy romance movies. Plus, that only seems romantic if you don’t think about it too hard. Needing that kind of initial meeting means you have a small pool of humanity who are in your local area.
This sounds like the definition of settling to me.
Meeting online gives you a much wider pool, and if you think about how rare this connection is and how many of us are scattered all over this planet, I suspect more twin flame pairs meet in the 3D now more than ever.
Personally, when I met my twin, it was on the other side of the planet. I was hoping through countries and we just happened to be in the same city for a few days and happened to match.
There are a good number of people on other threads, all talking about meeting their twin flames online. I don’t think it matters at all how you meet.
BUT THAT SAID…
I do think you need to be especially careful telling the difference between twin flames and limerance if you haven’t physically met in person.
Yes, you can meet your twin online.
But yes, you can also meet someone online who just seems appealing and ascribe that label to them. Especially easy when your only experience with them is online.
Met mine on IMVU, actually. Ryan’s Buffet, of all places. We did the whole on-and-off thing for about a year and change before we finally broke the pattern, which felt like it took longer than it needed to.
I meet a lot of people in my own city, but I agree that people put too much emphasis on this idea. Nobody I’ve ever met in person ever connected with me the same way and my twin and I would never have been able to connect living so far away if it wasn’t for IMVU.
Maybe the universe would have orchaistarted another way… but it seems unlikely.
Are people still asking this in 2026? The medium has never mattered. What matters is whether you can recognize the energetic signature when it shows up, and most people aren’t paying attention to that part.
Online can weed out people who are too fixated on the physical vessel. If you can feel the connection through text alone (and I mean genuinely feel it, not just project it), that tells you something about where your spiritual awareness is at.
Yes, we met on a random chat app. A complete chance out of millions of people, it was kind of magical. So many things had to line up exactly the right way.
I met my TF online 11 and a half years ago, on a writers’ website. I knew very early on in our communication that there was something significant here, but I was almost a decade away from hearing the term “twin flame” (much less embracing it) and happily married besides. In hindsight, I know I felt a deep connection and attraction to him almost from the beginning, and long before I knew what he looked like. The synchronicities between us throughout were astonishing and I can now recognise our telepathy was in action right from the start. I questioned myself so many times on why I felt this deep pull of importance to someone on the other side of the world who I’d never met in person or even spoken to directly. It was ten years before we did finally meet up in person - a decade of building a friendship and connection almost solely through email - and at that point I already knew how deep this bond was and that it was vitally important to us both. Finally meeting in person and feeling our shared energy in physical space was an amazing and beautiful confirmation of something I already knew. There was no “sudden eye lock from across the room” moment in our case… just a slow realisation that I’d only ever had synchronicities like this with the most important people in my life, which meant the Universe was trying to tell me something even though it took me years to make sense of it.
So mine started online first. The initial sign wasn’t even romance. It was this sudden crown/third-eye buzz and a heat wave shooting up my spine every time they typed. In hindsight, textbook kundalini surge stuff.
Met IRL and my heart chakra basically went into overdrive. I know something was up before we met, but then when I saw them, I knew for sure this wasn’t “normal”. The sacral + heart activation hit so hard I had to ground for a while afterward just to function. Do an energetic boundary check before you meet in person. Quick root-chakra grounding, throw up a shield, whatever works for you.
