So why do I see people making videos saying they have multiple twin flames or that they’re trying to choose between two twin flames? Can someone help make this make sense, please?

People believe different things about twin flames, and I respect that - but I don’t agree with it.
Personally, I think anyone who thinks you can have more than one twin flame hasn’t met their twin flame.
You can have multiple soul contracts and soul contracts with more than one person. But there’s a reason why every twin flame I personally know who is with the real thing knows there’s nobody else quite like their counterpart.
Anyone who thinks they have multiple is probably dealing with multiple soulmates at best. Or it’s wishful thinking and they’re dealing with people they just have a crush on. Something they probably need to work on before they’re ready to meet their twin (if they have one).

Terms evolve… but people also bastardize them to make a buck.

The only time I’ve ever seen someone say they have two is that weird guy from the TFU cult who was just trying to sleep with a bunch of people.

Or if they at least have some idea, then maybe they are talking about other soul level connections, but just not an actual twin flame. I’m all for people having different beliefs with the path, but I’m yet to see anyone with an actual, valid experience of having more than one TF.

False twin flames are everywhere and they’re specifically designed to trick you. Not because they’re evil or intentionally trying to do wrong… it’s just part of the lesson that you need to learn and that’s why they show up in your life.

The thing is, false twins often appear during your awakening phase. So you might meet someone who catalyzes your spiritual journey and feels like everything, then later meet your actual twin and be like “oh wait I have TWO?” because you don’t really know enough to be able to tell the difference yet.
I’ve seen people absolutely convinced they had multiple twins but it turned out one was the real deal and the others were either karmic partners (there to teach you lessons from past lives) or false twins preparing you for the real thing.
I think the confusion comes from people assuming this is more straightforward than it actually is. Usually, from people who consider themselves spiritual enough for social media, but they don’t really spend time with a spiritual community that actually goes through the effort of trying to further themselves with it.

I think souls can hold multiple deep connections at once. That’s just how consciousness works. Your soul can be deeply connected to one person, while that same person (or you) also has an equally deep connection with someone else. It doesn’t work in a straight line like physical reality does. The whole sacred union thing doesn’t require exclusivity - it works on resonance patterns that can overlap.
However, just because it’s possible doesn’t mean everyone who claims ‘multiple twin flames’ is actually experiencing that. I believe in theory it might be true, but I have never seen any evidence for it, and nobody whom I take seriously has either.

When you’re actually going through it, believe me, you wish you could just decide they were a strawberry instead and move on to someone easier. You wish you could convince yourself that maybe they weren’t actually your twin and there’s someone else out there who would be less painful to love.
But you can’t. Because you know. Even when they’re at their absolute worst, even when they’re choosing substances over you, over themselves, over everything - you still feel that connection in a way that makes it impossible to pretend anyone else could be ‘the one’ or that there could be multiples.
If there were multiple twin flames, people dealing with really difficult twin situations would just… pick a different one, right? The fact that we don’t, that we can’t, even when it would make our lives so much easier - that tells you something about how this actually works.
So yeah, I agree with you. If people really understood what this connection is, they’d know there’s only one. Because if there were options, trust me, some of us would have taken them by now.
To be honest, I think if most people just use the term “twin flame” and have a happy relationship with a soulmate, that is perfectly fine. I’m really not meaning this to be as mean as it sounds (it is hard without tone in text), but I do mean this to be helpful. I have never seen anyone claim to have more than one mirror soul who doesn’t also post a lot of narcissistic stuff.
It is so incredibly rare to have a twin flame, but for some people, somehow this still isn’t enough, and they start twisting things to make themselves out to be even more important. You could do without that energy in your life, I wouldn’t listen to anyone claiming this stuff because they rarely add any actual journey to your path.
The multiple twin flame thing drives me up the wall tbh. People want to be special so badly, they’ll claim anything, and usually it is all instead of actually doing something that would actually help them better themselves, so it is very likely they don’t even have a twin flame. They’re clearly not ready for the journey.
If you actually look at what twin flame means - ONE soul in TWO bodies - how does that even work with multiples?? You can’t split one egg and get three identical twins, biology doesn’t work that way and neither does this.
